Don't Miss Your Chance to Enter the u3a Creative Writing Competition

u3a members have until 16 June to enter the 2022 creative writing competition and have the opportunity for their short story to be shared with the u3a movement.

2022's search for new creative writing talent, in collaboration with Bloomsbury, is drawing to a close. The competition asks for stories that fit the theme, 'Openings.'

The winner will have their story published in Third Age Matters magazine, which reaches over a quarter of a million households, with a bespoke illustration to accompany it. There will also be twelve runners up, who will all receive a copy of the Writers and Artists Yearbook.

The competition is evidence of the incredible talent within the u3a movement and can be a jumping off point for further writing success. For previous winner, Lynne, the experience of writing and submitting her story 'opened doors' and encouraged her to pursue more writing opportunities - which led to a writing contract with The People's Friend.
